Stephen Vincent Benét [Stephen Vincent Bent]
(1898–1943) a US writer of poems and novels. He received a ↑Pulitzer Prize for his best-known poem John Brown’s Body (1928) about the American Civil War. His brother, William Benét (1886–1950) was also a successful poet.
